"The Body Moves Outside The State: An International Day of Culture, Arts, and Repro Rights" in Brussels

Last Sunday, September 22nd, 2024, we joined forces with a global team of activists, artists, and reproductive health organizations for The Body Moves Beyond the State: An International Day of Culture, Arts, and Repro Rights at the Musée de la Fonderie. The event took place from 2:00 pm to 10:30 pm.

Curated and supported by a global network of vanguard reproductive rights organizations, including Repro Uncensored, Women on Web, Shout Your Abortion, Women First Digital, Vitala Global, Plan C, and others, the event fostered a unique collaboration between activists, healthcare professionals, artists, and the public. These organizations were present to discuss their work with attendees.

We learned and engaged with our incredible panelists, participated in dance workshops with the amazing Sorta Project, and watched films presented by talented Belgian and French filmmakers. Together, in solidarity, we honored International Safe Abortion Day.

The event took place in Molenbeek, steps from the famous Sunday market at the Musée de la Fonderie, during the annual Day Without a Car of the European capital.

Two powerful performances, designed by WE.LO(U)VE.RADIO specifically for this occasion, were performed at the Bourse as part of our event, engaging with the broader Belgian/EU audience. Participants who took part in Sorta Project’s workshop at the Fonderie were able to join the second dance at the Bourse.
